Thanked: 292When looking at the photo, I see some dark hairs that go all the way up to the canopy of the brush. It may been those dark hairs that are detracting from the softness of the brush. When I get a new brush, I examine the tips of the brush carefully and cut off about 1/4" of any hairs that look darker or stiffer than the others. If you have sensitive skin, that makes quite a bit of difference to the feel of the brush. Do not attempt to pull out the hairs as that will weaken the glue bond of the knot and also reduce the density and backbone of the brush. Just cut off enough so the offending tips no longer contact your face. Your face with thank you for your efforts.

Sometimes it's a crap shoot. I've bought brushes from some of the best known or highly regarded brands and it was very prickly/scritchy altough half the universe was praising how soft and non scritchy it was. Same with the scrub or other characteristics. After all it's a natural fiber and it can be different from batch to batch. Been there, seen it, experienced it.
