Watching now, I've always been a huge fan of classical history.

When I'm done, it will be onto Kobo to find some further reading.....thanks for the great presentation, much enjoyed, especially during this time.

    Another research project....yippie!

Just reading a book right now about the Roman Emperor Maximus Thrax.

Ah, Mike, my good man, bless your heart for the kind words. I am glad you found the video. We filmed in my study. It was a long and beautiful day. Lunch with wine. More filming in-study. My cousin had a good supply of footage from Iraq, when he was back there a few years ago. He also had shot some at the Oriental Institute in Chicago. Years ago he and I had plans to go to northern Iraq, across the frontier from Turkey, and then roam among the villages in the Nineveh Plain and record stories from the old timers. My mouth was watering to do that, but then there was a war going on, and later our friendly ISIS was going nuts. So we had to nix the plan. It was the logical thing to do. I had made it out of Vietnam alive and was not going to have my establishment stepped by the bad guys in Iraq.

Excellent video and like said above you have the perfect voice for a documentary.
I grew up in Greece so being surrounded by history is a given but I still remember the feeling when I visited the Pergamon museum in Berlin and saw the Ishtar gate, the tablets with the first writings etc. It was absolutely fascinating.

Thank you, Alex. Yes, I am familiar with the Pergamon Museum. I was in Berlin before the wall fell and spent many hours at the Pergamon. Good stuff.
