Impresa Bianchi Carceri by Eugen Witte, Solingen 7/8
Received this Solingen beauty in the mail today. Made an offer on it on the bay on a whim. The listing didn’t have the best pictures and a very little description. The blade looked good and the scales looked like they needed a little cleaning so I figured it was a safe bet. It’s hard for me to resist a solingen 7/8 full hollow, so I said why not and to my surprise my first offer was accepted.
I was pleased to receive a razor that appeared to have had little to no use. I reset the bevel and honed it on my coticule. Great shave and a real keeper.
I love these kind of surprises!

Great catch! I like it. The writing on the box is in Italian but I must say that it sounds a bit strange... The two word on the left could be " White Company" the word on the right means "Prisons" Probably there is an "&" in the middle. Anyway I wish I had your ability in selecting such a good razors!
My English is elementary so I apologize in advance if on some occasion my tone should be inappropriate.

Thanked: 1081Simple and elegant, very nice! What a surprise for it to have ivory scales. Always nice to get a bargain.

Upon closer inspection, I think it’s plastic. It’s very convincing until I saw equally distanced little circles on the underside of the scales indicating a seam.
Still very happy with this catch.

Elegance through simplicity, lovely. I personally love this kind of rounded, plastic Solingen scales. Great catch!
