My new Wacker
Dear Friends, here some pics of my new razor. It's just arrived (a bit late) and I must admit to be a little disappointed. I don't think to be a choosy person and, which is more, I'm quite lazy, that's why I won't return the razor, but I would like to know what would you do if you were in my shoes. I mean, I'm new in this SR world so I am not sure about what can be considered "normal" , moreover this razor is supposed to be handmade, but considering that is not really cheap, the signs you see can be tollerate from the majority? Or maybe some of you could have hit the roof?

To me, that does not look like normal Wacker quality.
Send a note with a pic and see what they say.Last edited by rolodave; 05-28-2020 at 10:02 PM.

I agree, i would be disappointed too. I wouldn't pay full price for a razor with a flaw like that (let alone sell one for full price.(OTOH if they offer to let you keep it and send you a new one i'd gladly take it off your hands )

Hmm, I cannot really tell how bad those grand marks are, but maybe you can polish them out with some metal polish. Just make sure you don’t get any on the etching. You can cover it with tape to be extra safe.
What I cannot tolerate is uneven and wide bevels

I looked at the Wacker site and they say,
"RAZOR IS FACTORY SHARP AND REQUIRES HONE AND STROP BEFORE USE"
Has this one been honed and stropped?

I didn't try the razor, only the HHT and was successful, so I presumed it was honed and stropped. I didn't buy it from the factory but from a shop and ask if possible to get it shave ready. Today I defeated my laziness and sent an e-mail complaining and they asked me to choose between price reduction (not specified) or return. I chose the second. Now I'm waiting for instructions, hope not to have other surprises...

Thanked: 4826I think I too would begin a report with the vendor. When we buy new, we pay a premium for new, they should be pretty flawless.
