Picked up a W&B ...
... from Ebay.
The Ebay pictures weren't great but three things caught my attention The blade was stamped Silver combined with India Steel, a deep barbers notch, and an unusual shaped tang that I haven't seen before, so I took a chance.
After many hours of cleaning up rust and orange peel, this is what I was left with ...
3/4" wide, near wedge. and after a preliminary hone with double tape, I'll be getting an even edge. Leaving the deep pits because it is old.
If any experts can put a date On this, I would appreciate it.

I've seen some with that tang but not as often. I might have one somewhere.

Thanked: 17Every time I go to the flea market or antique store I hope to find big choppers. On the rare occasion I find a wide coffin box and pick it up I'm hoping it's a big heavy chopper inside. Everytime that box feels heavy and I open the box I hope the chopper inside isn't completely ruined. Today I got pretty lucky, it all aligned except the edge has some chips and a scale is cracked. After taking out the chips should still be 8/8.
