Default 7 day set Mappin & Company (1860/1864)

    Good morning ,
    received this set today...
Whereabouts are known as I bought it from the 'great granddaughter ?' who discovered it whilst emptying her former 'chateau' built during the early 1800's

Size: 48.9 KB, Monday's ruined , rest is fine.
    11/16" in ivory scales
Cleaned up 'Tuesday' with some polish
    Pity 'bout the 'Monday' though...
I was tryin' to figure out which is worse, ignorance or apathy...Then I realized I don't know and I don't care...

Wonderful find regardless of the ruined Monday razor. Enjoy

That is probably the sweetest spine work I have ever seen. Outstanding!

    What a find! Congratulations.

Even if Monday becomes a shorty, that is a gorgeous set.

Count me in for the spine work. Shame about Monday but still beautiful.

What the hell, make a round point out of it

That is a really nice 7 day set of razors! Too bad about Monday. Oh well! Are you going to just look at them or are you going to try and shave with them?

Thanks to all , yes , like all of my razors I intend to shave with them...That's what they meant to be. Yesterday I concentrated on the box , as you can see the veneer is loosening on top. I'll fix that today with some wood glue and clamps. Cleaned the brass and gave it a polish. Came out quite nice actually.
Took out my 3M trizact pads and gave Tue,Wed and Thu a quick rub with P1000/P3000/P6000 and P8000 (can't see no diff between 6000 and 8000) I guess if I want them brand spanking new I will have to take over them to Joseph but we'll see how acceptable it will turn out... I was wondering if the value would be affected if I'd made a round point out of it as Paul suggested ? Or just leave as is as I never shave on Mondays ?
