Spy Alert.!
A week ago, my razor spy's ( my brother, his wife ) sent me pic's of two razors, with a message... Interested!?
I couldn't make out the stamps on the tangs, but I could tell one was at least 5/8, and a bit over honed, but even.
The other was a shoulderless, French point. Good hone wear, and a etching in the blade. Both appear to have horn scales.
I reply...what are they asking, figuring their at a antique store.
Its a auction, at the thrift store. The bids at $22. seven days to go.
AUCTION..!!! HA!! Tell um $30. Doubtfully..
Well...I won.! I was really surprised, somebody didn't out bid me with a dollar.
First is a Tonsorial Gem, in honey horn. Again..a bit of hone wear, but even.
Next is a I. Sorby, Sheffield. 6/8. shoulderless, French point.
Here's the kicker..
So my spy's went to the thrift store, to pick up the razors, this morning. On their way home, they stopped at a local, flea market, where we've bought a few guns, from.
As they came thru the door, they noticed a razor in one of the glass cabinets, along the wall.
My spy alert goes off on my phone, while I'm at work. I open the pic, to see this.
My reply.... Hell, yes.!!
It doesn't say who, or where, it was made. Just the distributor, from NY.
But I think that most would agree on the maker, with this side by side, comparison. And yes, its 8/8ths. slightly light at the heal, and from the wilds.

I really like that Sorby, Love the French grinds. Are the scales horn or Ebony?
Nice find. Pays to run a network.
