- - -nolds HM King Edward
I bought a lot of razors and this bonus razor came with it.
It looks like that has to be King Edward VII. This makes it very easy to date because his reign was only from 1901 to 1910. It could possibly be a commemorative one after his death but even so I can't imagine that it goes as far forward as 1915.
It's not something that I think I'm going to do much with since it has a lot of rust and I mean a LOT and also a considerable amount of hone wear on both the spine and the bevel. It looks like it has maybe been restored once before because there seems to have been some pretty heavy sanding on the tang And there was a set of scales on it which was too long and you can see where they removed the pivot pin. Only just a little of the tang stamp is visible. It's hard to see in the picture but it is the NOLDS of Reynolds on the top and the L and D of Sheffield on the bottom
I think that has to be Frederick Reynolds, unless there's another Reynolds from Sheffield in that time which I'm not familiar with. There's even more pitting on the tang on the back side,
So I don't see doing very much with it but it is very interestingIron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Nice old razor Paul! If you are ever in the market to let it go, let me know. I like a challenge.

I might John. I'll have to ruminate on it. I just don't know that's one I am excited about. I am intrigued by it though.
