Default Recently received a nice kamisori as a gift

As the title suggests, I recently received as a gift a very nice, and thus far unidentified, kamisori, which I have been on the verge of sharpening. I've yet to do so, as I'm somewhat ufamiliar with the process of doing so, apart from a few passes on a pretty decent transark to check the edge. Any input on the matter would be appreciated here, as would opinions. This is the first razor that I will be putting any work into, and I'm anticipating the process.

All I'm going to say is if this is your first, a Kamisori is a bad starting point. You can totally ruin the thing rite fast if you don't know what you are doing and that razor looks like it need some real work, maybe too much. Talk to a pro on that.

Honing a Kamisori is different to honing a symmetrical western style razor.

Quite a bit of hone wear on that, and they are tricky to learn on.
There are always shave ready razors in the classifieds here at very fair prices.

A kamisori is ambitious for a first try. I assume you have either studied it or have some instructions since you did the inked bevel test. Also you mentioned a trans Ark you used. You have stones to use or access to them I guess?
As said someone knowledgeable to help is useful. Do you have someone to help?

Needs work. Send it out. But I use Glen's method (Above video) Worked fine for me. But if you are new to honing, a Kami is not the place to start.
