An old Fredrick Reynolds. Deeply reground. Minus notch so shorter.
Scales are Ern (USA) variant of Zepp and Ern Jr scales. German Silver.
I think stamped in Germany and assembled in USA. 1930's?

Silly contraption which turned out perfect.

Indeed, an old wedge which is not rusted/honed/stropped to death should be left alone IMO.
The ones I have were probably done a century or more ago.
I tend to think the advent of the Hexe grinding machine in the 1890's likely contributed to this....

I've got a FBU that's been reground thin, like yours.
Actually... Its bellied. So maybe thinner than yours.

    Rings on stone or face.

That is likely the Hexe what done that!

Mine sings on the stones, strop and face also Mike, and also bellied. Absolutely fabulous shaver. Mine still has the notch though. I have to be a little careful since the edge rounds the corner at the toe. It's almost as easy to get myself with it as a spike or Spanish point but it sure is handy for touch up and trimming around the mustache.

Edit: oh yeah, you can't see the stamp in the pics I posted but it's a W&B FBU also.
