Whale Tooth Hone
My latest project, the Whale's Tooth Hone.
An erratic slate my son picked up on a trip to the northwest. Slabbed up, its a dead ringer for a Sperm whale tooth.
7 inches long, 3 inches at the widest and 2 1/2 at the root.
Still lapping it, so haven't ran blades over it. Even if it isn't a fabulous finisher, it will be fun to use.
Do whales have dentists? this one has a partial crown on the backside. One of the other slabs has a full brown crown.

Thanked: 4826I really like finding rocks for hones. Some wind up being awesome, and others are hone shaped rocks.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
