Joesph Elliot Silver Steel - LH?
I picked this one up off ebite a couple weeks ago. I was bored the other night and used 1K sandpaper to set the bevel and since I dont have any hones yet I decided to see what would happen with jewelers rouge and a scrap of leather. I used a dark red and a white on leather and I'll be darned if it isn't a comfortable shave. So far this is the only one that its worked with
The strange thing about this one is the finger groove on top of the tang if you look at the picture it narrows down on the front side of the tang. This makes it more comfortable to hold left handed. Did they make razors for lefty's?

Thanked: 108Hey, very cool razor – bit of hone wear for sure but there's life in her yet.
Razors for lefties, makes sense to me.
And cool of you to experiment with a pasted hanger for primary honing.
Somewhere (I think) Joshearl talks about this as a good approach to wedges. I have a Joseph Elliot wedge with significant warping and a pasted hanger has been the only thing to get the edge really sharp.
There's this conventional wisdom about pasted hangers that they cause rounding. A good precaution, to be sure, but sometimes I think the risk is exaggerated provided you're competent in your stropping. I have linen strops with TI paste, chrome oxide, and cigar ash, and I regularly use all three for touchups with excellent results and no adverse effects.
