Default Mr Mappin and Mr Butler

Hello, I thought I'd share with you my latest sanding victims.

Wearing the white scales is this little "Jose Mappin & Brothers, Queens Cutlery Works, Sheffield" there is a little sun next to the writing. I think Jose is an abbreviation of Joseph rather than the Spanish version of the name.
It's got fine jimmps on the underside of the tang.
It's quite a small razor too, but I like it.
Is this a very early Mappin piece? refering to the trade directory found around this site somewhere!
It is still quite pitted but not a great deal of wear on it.
The naked razor says "George Butler & Co Sheffield, England" and ART in a circle on the tang. Also engraved on the blade is " Butler's Special Hollow Ground RegD" over a key. Not too much wear to the piece.
One of the Butlers scales was shagged, so I took the scales off so I could give the blade a thorough sanding and polish, did OK I think, not bling but new looking. I'll either find some correct old horn scales for it or make some out of ebony. Good proper box with it too.
Little question, would one of you gentlemen give me a description of the razors from what you see.
Any info would be very much appreciated.
Oh! I thought I'd add, I got the Mappin razor with the Butler, it wasn't described or attributed to any maker. I got both for the princely some of £3.58 incl postage !!

Oh! No2, the Mappin is a full-wedge just about..

Doh!!!!!!!!! It's Josh (Joshua) not Jose. Just call me Homer Simpson.
    M
