    Default Another antique fair....

Saturday was a good day. I went to a antique fair/flea market
that had about 400 vendors. I have been to that fair, held twice a year, for the past 3 years but this time was different. They had more razors for sale than ever. I purchased 18 of them and said no to at least 200 others.
The best was a Barbers Pet 421 and a DD Dwarf, both in VG condition. Then came a matched pair of English wedges made from cast steel, several W&B that need a regrind, a big razor with USMC on the blade that needs to have the toe reground because of a chip and a bunch more.

The most I paid was $25 for the Barbers pet. There is simply nothing wrong with it. 6 razors for $75 but that included the DD dwarf and the W&B's. The matched pair of old English cast steel wedges cost $50, they wanted $90. Those have a reverse etvh on the big blades so they cannot be sanded but most of the pitting is on one of them on the spine. They have faux tortise shell scales with no wedge.

Oh, and a barbers hone in excellent condition in original box. An American Hone Co 3 line hone for $5.

The only negative was the trip was 75 miles each way.

    A pretty good day,

Some day! We just don't have much like that here in central Texas.
