Thanked: 84And then there was 9 !
I now have 9 razors !
3 in use
2 need sharpening
3 need scales and sharpening
1 is my only colector piece (made for a barber who worked in my home city a long long time ago.
The 5 in waiting are (top to bottom)
Joshua Mappin & Bro's small bismark(I think?) wedge. 5/8 at widest part.
Martin & Co smallish bismark wedge. nearly 5/8.
Kropp Sheffield round point bi-concave (I think?) 6/8
Joseph Rogers & Sons round point hollow round just over 6/8
George Butler & Co bismark or barbers notch, wedge but says hollow ground?? just over 5/8
I do like my snakeskin 2 razor box I had with the Martin.
The Kropp BTW seems really good. When I got it it was covered in very old dried up lather, but only suffered one small spot of rust on the top jimps and around the pivot !!!! It should have been ruined as it was obviously not dried or cleaned since it's last use that I think was many years ago.
I stroped it and although not shave ready will cut arm hair to a fashion!
I'm no expert, but I think if I had a barbers hone I could finish off the edge on it.
Please feel free to correct any of my descriptions or comments, I'm trying to learn about this enjoyable subject.

Congratulations! Sounds like you have the beginnings of a great collection. I have a dozen or so and I enjoy shaving with about 8 that I keep up for my regular rotation. I am looking forward to a custom Robert Williams that is in his work queue.

Thanked: 84Cheers, I would love a custom blade one day. I might wait, and get a custom as my first "new" razor, other than a Wapi maybe.
