Found my Wade & Butcher at last
After looking for some time, and bidding without success, I finally snagged a Wade & Butcher I could afford (I've blown too much lately).
I took a flyer. The photos on ebay were not that good, but I ended up with a 15/16th barber notch quarter grind with black bone scales. Unique filigree engraving on the blade (looks gold, but is not. My poor photography.) I really don't think the blade has been honed previously. Scales had some scratches, but no worm holes. A few minor shallow pits, mostly on the blade reverse. All I've done, and all I'm going to do, is polish with MAAS. Now I'm pretty much set.

Very nice, John. Congratulations. That's one of the most ornately etched blades I've seen. Good grab. As an aside, in the limited experience I've had holding vintage razors I've only seen "bug bites" on horn scales and not bone scales.

Let us know how it shaves when you get to it. I personally am curious since I'm in the market for one too <hint hint>.
