My strop collection.
I wanted to share my strop stash with you guys, stropping has become my favourite part of the whole ritual, and these are my babies, i have had more...but these are the ones that are staying with me.
The first one at the left is a cordovan leather with diamond cut back ( my favourite strop in the planet)
The second one is the English bridle (very close second)
The third one is a double TM black latigo and heirloom horse hide ( currently undergoing reconstructive surgery.)
The fourth is a TM red latigo 3" what else can be said about it( my choice when using wedges or super large-heavy blades.)
and then i have 2 chromium pasted linen strops and one horsehide loaded with diamond compound 0.25....
Thanks for letting me share!!!

Nice set of strops!!! What makes the cordovan leather with diamond cut back your favorite on the planet? Where did you get it?

The cordovan is my favourite because its feel, looks and touch makes her stand out from the others by a mile,
it is sooo buttery smooth, super flexible (unlikeanythingseen before),no matter what i do it always recovers its shape instantly without any wrinkles, i think that is a qualitty called supleness???(excuse my english).
I have only seen/touch this leather in $500 dollar shoes.
The smell is also very unique, very very adictive.
After stropping on this one and going back to other strops it gaves me the feeling that the others have a waxy feeling to them, almost like if there was a plastic layer on top of them, this one while being very smooth lets me feel the pores on the leather and how it grabes the edge.
Actually it was Scott (honed right) who showed me the first cordovan i ever shaw at the Southern california get together last march, it was love at first sight, i think he has been using the same one for 10 years,(mark correct me if i am wrong) looks and feels amazing, i guess normal use do good at strops.
I got it from Keith at hand american, i heard he is not selling anymore but that they are gonna be available very soon at classic shaving.
Last i heard they go for $130.
I forgot to mention that another thing i really like about this strop is the diamond cut back, i use it a few laps every other shave and has really improved my edges.Last edited by SIB; 08-11-2008 at 11:03 PM.
