Default Built my G10 topped Grinder bench!

Finally I got down to doing this. Been in my mind for a while at least. Anyway, I built from scratch a new "workbench" JUST for my Grinder. I built it at a height where I can grind while sitting- something I've been reading a lot about lately. All 2x4's, very sturdy and the top is a SOLID 3/4" piece of G10 Micarta. Awesome. I had to work the G10 somewhat since it wasn't exactly "squared" but after that (major PITA) it fit very well. By the way, the "base" rectangular support isn't on the ground- it is about 2 or 3 inches up off the ground on the legs. Just didn't photograph it at the right angle to show that. The best part is- The micarta is in no way "secured" to the bench! It just lays in the rectangular frame on the legs with no bolts or screws. It is very snug so there is no movement but if I ever need to change the top or even transfer it to a new workbench, all I do is unmount the grinder and lift up the top! It works amazingly well. Other thing is- the grinder is centered between the front and back edges of the micarta so it can be mounted in either direction. Therefore if I need to place the bench in a corner where the grinder would be cramped on the "left" I can just unmount, turn the top around and re-mount the grinder on the "right". The G10 is perfect for this. I wouldn't try holding that 130+lb grinder in this setup with a piece of plywood! lol Anyway, I am really proud of this one! Special thanks to ByronTodd and his dad for the G10 hook-up!

    ....Insulin.

(sorry, that's just a little acerbic diabetic-to-diabetic humor for Alex)

Water to catch grinding dust. All that white stuff is G10 dust. That stuff gets messy. I had to vacuum the whole shop after working the table size.
