Christmas Gifts - Three Straights
My loved ones were very good to me this Christmas, I must have been extra good!
Anyway, CarrieM and JrJoeD gave me 2 straights to add to the collection, a Peaso and an ESPE. Both are Solingen and took a wicked edge in short time. It appears they were never honed.
Also, the Hess 8/8 came in under the radar and CarrieM spotted it for me. This one also looled like it had never been honed and also took a wicked edge!
I hope they are as pleased with their gifts as I was with mine.
They also gave me a bottle of Aqula Velva Musk, Royall Lyne and Royall Bat Rhum! 
I shaved with the Hess yesterday and was very pleased. It was weird movint that large blade arond but all went well.

They are all sweet but that Hess is just over the top....
cant quite read the tang is that a #1????

I used to own a ESPE -- hard steel (typical German). It performed well for me with a properly honed edge. The Hess is awesome! I love big blades.
