Thanked: 7New hones that I like to show you Gents
Oki well I have bought some new hones that I like to show you Gents :-)
First the Celebrated is presented for the comparing.
Both the hone are SIZE - 4.5" INCHES LONG STONE X 1" WIDE, so they are a little shorter than the Celebrated hone
The "no label" hone is blue and a hard stone, but still it works great and put a super nice edge.
The "Made in Germany" labelled hone is more of a light grey (still not the same grey as the Celebrated) and is a very-very soft stone, wow the best hone I have ever worked with.
Gents what are you thought, please express you wisdom about these hones, and ohhh let me hear you say "this is for sure a Escher" :-)

I have 2 thuringian hones, and what you have there are definitely thuringian/escher-type hones! Very beautiful indeed. I have a couple of the celebrated water hones, and I of course had to show them off too!

Forum member and advanced rock collector Blaireau has said that the "Celebrated" labeled hones are indeed Eschers and he know what he is talking about. Those are some nice ones and all in the family IMO. In the photo with the water on them it looks like the light colored one may be the coveted yellow/green and the one on the right a blue/green. Hard to say in photos but a great haul whatever they are.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
