A Busy weekend in the shop
The first epoxy test scale from the AYC barn wood I bought.
The beautiful barnwood that turned muddy brown after the epoxy
Pasted Balsa strop
The Mr. Ugly Junior strop/canvas insert for a Rolls Razor.
Mocked up set of scales as a test to use buttons as spacers. That white thing in the middle there is a flat backed 23mm button that I snipped down and will paint with Testors. I have others that the color goes all the way through they however take a lot of sanding etc. If you use this spacer in White and clip it you could paint it any color and they are only $.70 a piece. The pushpin thingy is the Mr. Ugly drying rack. It allows me to level the scales that I epoxy and to be able to get under them to wipe the drips.

Love to see this down-to-earth approach with the pins, the button and the Rolls canvas insert! Keep up the good work!

Thanked: 3Great canvas strop idea for the Rolls SW. Do you intend to use chromOx or a paste on it?? (Have any pics of your black latigo rolls strop?)

No pics. Its the same leather as my Mr. Ugly hanging just cut to size.
I could cut another and use it to paste. I am working on another way. I want to keep this one canvas, yes it is real bottom weight canvas, and leather.
I also used the same canvas to repurpose my old Illinois with Canvas and removed the Cro2 Linen. If that can hold up for a month or two I think Mr. Ugly will get married.
