Birthday Gifts for Myself
I thought I deserved something for myself, so I found these on ebay.
The Wosty is just shy of 8/8 at the widest, and is about a quarter hollow. I'm trying to decide what to do with regards to cleaning; I sort of like the "grain" on the blade, and I'd really hate to lose the writing. I'll at least clean up the tang and tail.
The Sheaf works already has a thread about her, but in short she's most likely reground to about a quarter hollow and she shaves like a dream.
Both can be seen in their respective places in my rotation. I keep my blades in approximate weight order. From left to right, they are: Revitt, Red Imp 132, K*R, Lather Well/Shave Well, Greaves, Friodur, W&B "SI," Wosty, Savage.

Very nice holli. I still hanker after a great big wedge blade. Love the fact you keep them in weight order. Sounds like OCD to me!

That first razor looks like a beauty, there's just something about those big ole' razors...very nice. Great rotation too, got a fine bunch there.

Thanks for the kind words, fellas. No, I don't do a 9 week schedule, haha. I used to rotate through them in a set pattern, but now I pick whichever strikes my fance on a given day; that's actually why I keep them in weight order.
Those are just the shave ready ones. My Elliot is down for honing, the microtomb... I've gotta figure her out, and I still haven't gotten around to finishing the W&B anchor (I might actually let her go, since I got that new Wosty; I'll have to do a shave-off before deciding).

Now really Dylan, you have to justify why you bought some razors? For most of us we just buy them because we want them.
Nice razors. We expect to see them looking like new shortly. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Haha, N; good one. Unfortunately, I do have to justify the purchase of new razors to myself. Between grad school and the student teaching that goes with it, I have no time to work and, therefore, no income.
As for the "looking like new" part, I have to figure out what to do with that Wosty. The "grain" doesn't cover the full back of the blade, and that makes me want to clean her up. On the other hand, cleaning the front would lose the writing/razor outline, which I kind of like. One thing is for certain; she will need some new scales at some point. So for now, I've just honed her up and stuck her in my rotation.

Thanks, Max. I actually started on the tang and tail this afternoon. Man, there is some serious rust and pitting. I wish I had the tools and knowhow to de-pin (and later repin) in order to really get a good shot at that mess.
