Squid's present to her Daddy...
(or that is what I'll be calling it)
Thanks to Buddel, an artist amongst restorers, for this beautiful notched Wade & Butcher in snakewood. which I ordered last week when I saw it & fell in lust. I have been looking for a large W&B for a while & thought "YOWSER! Better get that before Squid arrives. Its scales match my snake's!". Then the weekend events occurred & Squid arrived first. Is this the youngest ever case of RAD?

Hopefully, Squid won't take exception to too many of Mom and Dad's carefully laid plans...
Congratulations to all on both arrivals.

That is a very nice blade. I cleaned one up and she took a mean edge. Unfortunately, I had to let her go, but she's in good hands.
Double congratulations.

That is a good looking razor. Buddel has a bit of a signature scale design. Even though those are a less extreme example, they're unmistakable. Lucky you got it when you did!

After a week's shaving, this razor continues to amaze. As we grow better acquainted, the shave improve. Does anyone else find that the second shave on a new blade is less good than the first then they improve from there on? I mistakenly shaved without stropping earlier & it was the best yet.....

Can't say that I've noticed the second shave on a new, or newly honed, blade is not as good as the first. I normally seem to find the first shave to be the worst because the blade is not dialed in to the exact way I prefer. Seems to take me three, sometimes four, tweaks to get the edge where I want it.
Wade and Butcher's are smooth shavers for sure. I only own one WB, but that is because I limit myself to three razors from England, three from Germany, etc. Given an unlimited budget I would own several of their razors.
