Default Dubl Duck Special- 1st honer!

Picked this up at an antique store a few weeks ago...$25 I think. Got around to shining her up and honing tonight. This was my first successful honing! I'm really excited. Cut the carp out of my finger. Have several other razors at various points of not-quite honed, but this one was straight and took a great bevel. Can't wait to shave tomorrow AM! My 1st Duck too!

She's not quite as good as she looks- there's one small, deep pit on the back side. Otherwise great condition.

    Congrats!

That cut must've been really bad from that Dubl Buck Special as it seems to have affected your typing!

HA!! It's actually that finger too. Why is the title the one thing you can't edit? D'oh!

For the record- "carp" was intentional.

Well at least you have excised that carp from you finger. The great thing about the Dubl Ducks is that aside from being great shavers, they are incredibly easy to hone. They have a reputation for being desired by barbers and there is a reason for that...they are great razors!

    Have fun with it!

Sweet catch. They feel like a sports car. I love em. You could actually cut out a nice smaller sized notch in the scales eliminating the one chip on the scale near the tang.

Great fine! I love hearing about great finds from local shops. You'll enjoy that baby.

Are you referring to the white round spot? The one caused by a vitamin holding the scales open? Scales are actually in great condition.

Shaved with this one this morning. AWESOME! Feels really great to shave with a razor you have personally honed, and I am happy to say I did a great job. Passed with flying colors. One of my most comfortable shaves in my short career.

Evidently almost all the blades I own are warped, so this may be my last success for a while
