    Default Scuttle in the works

I have a friend who is a potter. I suggested that he could make me a shaving scuttle. He is experimenting with 2 designs. 1 a traditional and another a 2 piece with a top bowl that seats into the lower. I made some suggestions and he sent me a couple of pics of the work in progress. I am pretty pleased with what he came up with.

They both look great. Should keep lather warm for ages. Are they wide enough to build the lather in?

It seems to be an impossible task to design a scuttle that is perfect for building lather and then keeping it warm. I've had a few ideas but they tend to be overcomplicated and look hideous when I put them to paper.

I suggested 3" by 3" for the size of the upper chamber. I am thinking it will be fine.

I was given the choice of temmoku brown or variegated blue. I went with blue.

They will get handles before they go in the kiln.
