    Default Thank you Mr Postman!

He brought me a special package today with the return address:

    Revisor
    Mangenberger Str. 182
    42655 Solingen

I haven't had time to take my own pictures, but here are the stock photos from the website:

The above is a 5/8 NOS carbon steel beauty. I bought it to compare with #2 (below) and answer (in my own mind at least) whether new is comparable to the old.

This is a 6/8 carbon steel shoulderless razor with black ebony scales and a brass wedge. This is from their new forgings. Both of these blades have the trademark with the cat (Puma?) on a branch and "C. Friedr. Schmidt Solingen" on the reverse of the tang. This is one sexy blade in person my friends!

In my conversations, I mentioned I was dissappointed in missing out on a NOS Crown and Sword they have pictured on their site. They have some NOS razors they list under "Raritaten de Woche". There had been a gorgeous one in Blonde horn that had just sold. (BTW there is a Gold Bug there that just took my breath away. Fortunately for my wallet, it was listed after I made my order. I don't know if I could have talked my wife into that and the Paul Waldmin Solingen-Weyer. - with 5 blades I think the shipping would have been free) Here is the 6/8 stunner with the blonde horn:

He replied that he had it in Black ebony! I couldn't resist. ERN's are probably my favorites in the vintage blades. They are now 5 of my 20 blades.

My wife encouraged me to get all 3 (My share of this year's tax refund).

I will post more picks later, but I doubt they will do these justice.

I was given the impression that these would arrive Shave ready. So I decided to chance it. I stropped extra on the canvas - 50 passes. Then 100 on the leather. After lathering with Ingram, I did one pass with each razor. All were good. BBS shave. The new Revisor did particularly well. I did get some irritation (too much pressure).

I may give each a few passes on the coticule (dry and wet) and the Chinese 12K

    Default What I didn't get

They listed these 2 beauties after my purchase.

    and this one:

    OOOOOOhhh Baby!

Maybe a little serious sucking up to Mrs Py would help.

Maybe I could get a second job.

I would by from them again in a heartbeat (assuming adequate funds. Thomas was very communicative and helpful. These folks make a quality product and are a pleasure to work with.
