There was a box on my front stoop from SRD earlier this week......my gift from the wife for this coming Monday. I suggested the blood orange as just one of many things she could purchase (and it's a BIG box, so I'm hoping that soap is in there). What did you think of the soap? I'm curious and can't wait until Monday to shave with it.

Let me start off by saying I am an orange loving freak. O.J. usual dosn't last for more than an hour or two after bringing it home.

I have to say this soap smelled fantastic, when I opened it up. There was only a very vague scent of soapy smell.

I'm not sure if this is typical of scented soaps since i've only ever used crappy mug soap from chain pharmacys, but it lost it's sent as I created the lather, which was a little disapointing. I probably wasn't paying to much attention to the smell since I'm trying to focus on not cutting myself.

As for how effective it is, today was the first time I was able to create a decent lather, and like I mentioned earlier I've only ever used crappy mug soap, so take this for what it's worth, 8 out of 10.

I tried waiting patiently until I got home to open it up, Unfortunately I could only get to my car. As soon as the door closed that box was opened

    Hi Nate,
What a great set up. I started out with the same dovo, that is a sweet little blade. My son now has that razor and he loves it. Hope you have lots of fun learning and the SRP is the best place to find out so much info(you probably figured that out already!). Keep us posted on your progress!

You're a lucky man. What a great gift. I also found the scent of the Blood Orange to fade very quickly, as does the bay rum glycerin soap I ade myself. I suspect it's a characteristic of the glycerins.

I just received the lavender soap, it holds up very well, I really enjoy it.

The brush came from Straight Razor Designs. On the bottom it says, Straight Razor Designs #1. It does look really nice and it makes a great lather, too. Soap is starting to build up on it, a little, so I have find a way to clean it.
I did just meet the man who made the brush, which through me off a little and was unexpected. He is fine gentlemen.
