    Default 7/8 and Up

As many around here know, I have a thing for big blades. I'm surprised you all take me at my word; after all, I did bring "Pics or it didn't happen" to Jimmy's attention. I thought I'd snap a pic of my big blades while I had them out. These are all 7/8 and up, with the largest measuring in at about 17/16. Ten blades in all. They are all shave ready, except the Joseph Smith and the Marsh.

I just got a few new ones, so it's time for me to re-assess my holdings. Part of that reassessment is re-ordering them; I like to keep my blades in size order. Another part is deciding if I'm going to keep them all. Of the ones shown, there is one that I'm thinking of letting go. Anyway, I'll start off with the Great White and move clockwise.

W Greaves wedge, George Savage & Sons wedge, W&B For Barber's Use wedge, John Marsh wedge, W&B For Barber's Use reground to full hollow, George Savage & Son's full hollow (reground?), Filarmonica 14 full hollow, Josepm Smith & Son's wedge, W Greaves quarter hollow (reground?), Henkels Friodur Full Hollow

Great collection! I like big blades myself and I have to admit, I am slightly envious at your collection.

Lovely assortment of blades you have there Dylan. You got my attention once more.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've been luck enough to see most of these in person. The photo is good but doesn't do the size of the blades justice. If you ever get the chance you should see these bad boys in person!

Big blades are great. Nice collection. The biggest I have is a B&B Le Grelot which is a mere 6/8...

When I get this straight shaving thing down completely I will have to see about acquiring a great big meat cleaver to shave with. The looks can't be matched.
