    Default My Pipes

While I had my camera out and the lights on, I thought I'd snap some shots of my pipes too. I'm quite partial to Karl Erik's, the first four are by him.

The first (two pics) is a grade 0 (from the numerical grading which went from 0-5 with 0 being the best) sitter that is carved asymmetrically in order to fin into the right hand. The grain is nothing all that special, but she's a "sitter" (sits up on her own), and I quite like that.

The second (two pics) is a grade B (from AAA to C with AAA being the best) with some nice grain to her. There are a few rusticated spots that I don't care for, but on the whole, I like her a lot.

The third (one pic) is an ungraded Karl Erik (newest production I think) with some nice grain - looks windswept.

The forth is a grade 2 with mostly straight grain. I thought she was a sitter based on pics, but it turns out she's not. I'm still very happy with her; I like the odd shape.

The fifth (two pics) is a Chacom sitter. This was the good pipe that I bought. I like that she's a sitter, but I'm not wild about her being so straight.
