Default Filarmonica #14 "Rejoneo" Medallon Taurino and other scores!

a couple weekends ago I bid on two live auction lots in Texas by phone that were indexed online by an auction service.

I went by 2 incredibly terrible pictures, but, I was fairly certain I saw a filarmonica and a large 8/8+ W&B.

I ended up paying $126 shipped for 8 razors.

    Little did I know, I scored a 8/8 Filarmonica #14, a 9/8 W&B Celebrated, and 8/8 W&B Celebrated. Pretty amazing.

I spent some time cleaning up the filly, havent touched the rest yet. Also, can anyone tell me WTF that thing is on the bottom?!?!? lol

here is the Filarmonica #14 "Rejoneo" in all its glory!

I would bet that little thing is a 'corn razor'. The filly is a beauty. I love the picador & the bull etching. Great score.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Amazing find! Congratulations. +1 on the corn razor, although it's not like any I've seen before.

I'm exceedingly jealous right now, we don't have estate sales like that in NZ, nor do we have many junk stores selling old straights. I want to be able to buy job lots of old razors from people who know nothing about them, and then have awesome finds like you clearly have had in this lot!

Great work on the Filly, looks good, can't wait to see how the W&Bs and the rest turn out (those Spikes are good wee shavers too, worth a resto for sure).

Buying lots of razors with only sketchy photos and descriptions is gambling, pure and simple! Sometimes you break even, often you lose money on junk, and once in a while, you hit a "jackpot". You, sir, hit the "Progressive" jackpot of straight razor lots. My sincere congratulations and envy! What a beautiful Fili...one question, though; what are the light colored scales on your 1" W&B Celebrated made out of? Couldn't tell from the pictures, but they looked like bone or possibly something better?

Unfortunately, they are home made, pinned with nails, trash basicall... some sort of plastic or other odd material they found around their house methinks.

If you are less than satisfied, I'd be more than happy to put her somewhere where you'll never have to see her again.
