I think that the lesson to be learned here is that all the preceding American companies imported Solingen razors, probably all made by the same anonymous manufacturer, and marked variously for the importers, including lots of address changes for different importers, who may have been the same people under different aliases. So, Matt, your Pearl King may have originally been able to quack, before it got it's scales and tang stamps! Quite a nice razor, and may be equal to any Duck. If it looks like a duck and shaves like a duck, it could be a Duck!

Thanked: 735Nice find.
I especially like how you have it casually perched atop a bowl of vintage Yardleys!

Thanked: 735Could look like a Duck, or could look like any other non-descript Solingen blade (no harm in that!)

Thanked: 45That etching is exactly the same! I did have a shave with it today and it was nice! I was fortunate to have found the Yardley soap near me too, still full for $10! Problem is, I don't want to use it in fear of running out! I now know why it has such a great reputation, it's among the best that I've used!

P.S....Because of the horrible graffiti all over it, I've decided to sand the blade clean and replace the scales. [/QUOTE]
