    Default The Current Rotation

Well, this is how it sits so far, just thought I'd share, had something waiting for me when I got home that didn't make it into the group pic...

Left to right we have, Stamped Wapi, Henckels #50, Red Imp, DD GoldEdge, R.C.Allman Custom, John Wragg, Clauss, DD SatinWedge,
C-Mon Wedge, Engles Leader, Gillette Tech, and a Merkur HD Barber Pole.

When I got home I had this waiting for me....W&B in Giraffe Bone with a brass wedge. Reground and scaled by our own Bob Allman,

My 2 Allman customs, the top one scaled by me as most of you may have seen before,

    Yep, love them all!

And those 2 are unreal shavers, the Butcher got its first test today and all I have to say is WOW! This is what that blade should have been from the start! I shaved with both of Steph's old W&B's(one big wedge and one smaller blade) and neither one shaved like this one, guess all they needed was the OCD Razors touch! Bob, you did a wonderful job with it, really brought it to life. The other blade of Bob's.........just plain scares the whiskers off my face, and a stunner to boot! Bob is the man, period, .

I love the W&B, very beautiful blade!!

One question -- I see lots of W&B "For Barber's Use" blades, and they seem to be the larger width models. The W&B blades that are 7/8 or less seem to be marked "The Celebrated" or something like that. So what type of blade does "For Gentlemen's Use" refer to?

There's probably a whole analysis of all of these different blades somewhere, but I've not found it yet. Thanks!

JeffE, I don't have a clue on that one, I think there is another post around here on the subject but I'm not sure. All I know is this W&B shaves like a champ and I was not impressed with the 3 W&B I tried before it(a 5/8's and a 7/8's wedge and a smaller hollow ground). It's funny though, I love my smaller wedges, the Duck and the C-Mon. Maybe I just need to find myself a big hollow ground Butcher......
