Default Okay, check out the beautiful Henkel pix.

    okay fellas,
Thanks for the warm welcome here are the pix of Grandads maybe Great Grandads old razor. Check out the label on the box. What's interesting is the (bolsters???) around the pins. I haven't been able to locate even a pic of another like this. Any info is appreciated. YES I may get up the courage to try not cutting my throat or face off with it. The blade has Henkel Fremont Ohio on it. Anyone know what the handle is made of?? Near as I've been able to find Henkel merged with a company out of Germany in about 1919. anyone know if this is correct.?? Thanks again for the warm welcome. BradName: razor smaller.jpg

Nice old razor Brad. Here is a pic of a few I have with bolsters. Not common but not uncommon. The scales are made of celluloid. The name Henkel is interesting to me. At first I thought your were misspelling Henckles. That is a very large company that has been making razors for many decades and still makes them to this day. Your razor is probably a really good shaver if it were honed up by a pro. That S.& C. Wardlow steel is interesting to me too. I hadn't heard of it before.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Brad,

I recently just purchased a razor similar to yours at an antique store, and was looking for information on it as well. Here's to believing it was a great find!
