Thanked: 227
No but as soon as it's here and I've evaluated any cleaning needed i'll measure it up and post. Heh that's me practically got a rotation when I get them all cleaned up, the wooden scales on my last one will need replacing, they're all shot unfortunately, but I've picked out the replacements, just need to get the blade tidied up.

Thanked: 227I had to share this because I thought it was quite a good story, I am out visiting my folks, and round the corner is an old barber who I've usd from time to time, anyhow I got talking to him months ago about straight shaving and my taking it up, anyhoo. As it transpires he has been talking to other folks about my straight razor shaving and collecting, so I was sitting with my old man and he said oh by the way I have a razor for you if you wanna buy it for £15, seemingly one of his older customers brought down this old razor and said ask this young guy if he wants to buy this for £15, so now I have a 6/8 Gotta superfine....... Pictures to follow.
Anyhow I thought this was a nice thoughtful story.

Thanked: 227Howdy
Here's the Gotta.
As you can hopefully see there is quite a bit of pitting at the heel of this blade and on the blade itself, I don't wanna clean this up because I dont wanna damage the gold inlay. Question.... Will this affect a shave with the razor? Coz I'd kinda like to use it.

Thanked: 4942You can always try our famous 12 Step Program designed specifically for those who are under the influence of RAD. The only problem is that it never works, but what the heck........
Nice razors,

Thanked: 227Nah Lynn
I have come to accept this affliction, and realised I'm just going to have to live with it.
As gor the gotta... I disinfected it cleaned it up a bit and got rid of most of the marking near the edge, brought the edge back on a fine stone and stropped it, cuts the arm hair clean, anyone think there will be any issues with me shaving with it with still some of the pitting on the main blade/heel end.

Thanked: 227Fiinally got my W&B through, there is some scratching and a minor crack/chip on the scales, but I still think they look nice, a little character as it were, also the pins are surprisingly pretty lol, so i'm cleaning this one up without dismantling I want to keep it as original as possible, this however is turning out to be a long process, but hey I have the time to burn
