Default More RAD, not sure on makes etc.

Went shopping to buy pressies for my other half's birthday on Monday, ended up acquiring a couple or razors... Did get her a few Hairy Bikers cook books though (signed at a booksigning here in York so not all was lost)

    Anyways, back to my straights...

Went to an antique store I was told about (last time I went it was shut), got talking to a chap who happened to be opening up - went in to his stall as he said he had a couple of cut-throats (about 7 in total) he had for sale for a tenner each (£10). Most were well worn including a nice Bengal that had been honed to not far off a point and another rather nice razor that was about 4/8 - too small for me and also well honed.

What did stand out was a Solingen travel straight in it's own case - ah, saves me mucking about finding a case for my TI.

The other one that stood out was a nice spike point with a notch and what may be bone? covering the tail. Not sure on the make of this one as all it says on the tang is 'St & Co.'

Snapped them both up as they were in nice condition, just need cleaning and honing I think.

Cleaned the spike point one up with some 1500 wet and dry then a bit of metal polish.

Added a pic of my stone as well, think it's a Charnley Forest but not sure (my dad's, he's had it a very long time)

Any info on the makers etc. would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nice finds! A lilttle bit of polish will bring those into great shape.

I like the scales on the solingen and the faux ivory tang of the St & Co!

I've tried to Google 'St. & Co.' but with no luck at all, same goes with 'Solingen travel razor'

I've seen the travel one pop up before now and again, whether it's the same make I don't know.

I have never seen that travel design before, how clever. Think I'll need to find me one of those.

The hone looks like a Charnley to me. I don't know about the razors. I have one with the 'travel case' scales too. It is a Solingen razor with Brosem on the tang and Hamburg Ring etched on the blade. Nice pair of razors you have there though.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
