    Default RAD; The Story Continues...

I've had a good week feeding my RAD, with two shiny new razors arriving this week!

The first is a 7/8" W&B meat chopper in full (or very near full) wedge, that I picked up from the SRP classifieds from Napoleon. It had been rescaled in black acrylic with a white acrylic spacer but it was not shave ready.

I was slightly worried about honing it, having never done a wedge before, and it's got a slight smile as well. The Wiki had loads of great information about setting bevels though, so I had a good read in there before I tackled it. I figured I'd give it a go!

The next day I test shaved it and fortunately it came out great. I think that was more about it being a good razor to hone than my honing abilities, but it lets me kid myself that I actually know something..! Just let me enjoy that thought..! Hehe!

Its very different to all my other razors which are all hollow ground. The shave is virtually silent, as is the stropping, but its a real delight to use and I'm very happy with it!

The second one is a Thiers Issard 6/8"-7/8" Spartacus Dreadnought razor, with a worked spine and a mirror finish. This is half hollow ground and is scaled in white bone.

It really is an absolute beauty and the pictures simply dont do it justice. I got it from Steve (blueprinciple) at The Invisible Edge and TI UK, and it came shave ready. And when I say shave ready, I really mean it! Darn, this thing is sharp!

I shaved with it this morning and it just wiped the hairs away like they werent there. Obie recommended that I get one of these, and I have to say I can see why he said so now..! This razor has it all; Great looks, great balance and a superlative shave. I love it!

Steves service is excellent, and I heartily recommend him to anyone. Thanks Steve!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Heres some razor pr0n for you all!

    Great razors, mate!

That TI is simply gorgeous in those bone scales and mirror finish! I hope you have many happy shavings with them!

    Default Rad: the Story Continues

    Hello, Stuart:

I am glad you love the Thiers-Issard 6/8" -7/8" Spartacus Dreadnought. It is a gorgeous razor, indeed. Would you believe I still take the razor out of the rack at least once a week and just look at it? Who can resist such beauty?

Oh, she is also a sweet shaver. I love it.

    Regards,

    Obie

Nice haul, I also snagged one of those Spartacus Dreadnoughts from blueprinciple and it was indeed truly shave ready. Great razor.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
