Yeah it's a hairline crack so I'm still gonna refinish it and just keep it for display. I'll keep looking for another. Theures hundreds of antique shops in Toronto so it won't be hard. Then theyres eBay

You have my commiseration; been there and done that, and felt the pain!
In the future, it is very helpful when using a Dremel to open the blade fully at a 90 degree angle with the scales, and place it on a soft fabric or rubber mat for polishing. The trick to prevent catching the blade edge is to hold the tang and keep a constant downward rotation of the edge into the material below. I never use the edge of the felt pads on the blade itself, only the flat side. It has worked for me, at least, and I have cracked no more blades.

That is a great set of finds..! Good score!

Man, I wish we had antique markets like that over here. You either get rusty stuff, no stuff or some halfway decent stuff that costs a million pounds.

    "You want this razor?"

    "Yes please!"

"Ok, that'll be a million pounds."

    "..."

"And the box is another million pounds."

    "..."

"And if you want it in a bag instead of strapped to a piece of coal, that'll be a million pounds as well."

"Do you take a credit card?"

"We do, but theres a fee of a million pounds."

So I went out yesterday to a different set of antique shops, and the one I went I to that had straights was run by a very nice Frenchman. We talked for a bit and he knew what all his razors could sell for, but said $20 each would be good since he bought them all for $100(12 total). I'm not gonna haggle with that, especially after finding a 15/16 WB Celebrated "barbers use" shoulderless(I think) razor in the cleanest condition I've ever seen, just a small amount of patina. So yeah I don't feel so bad about cracking the other one now. After polishing it with some rouge compound it came out perfect. I'll post pics later. And none of the others were in useable condition, most 3/8 bokers and dovos with a nice triangle shape and ridiculous hone wear. I'll post pics later when I charge my camera.

Please post pics! You seem blessed with inordinate good fortune, since I never been able to score even one monster W&B, in any condition. Congratulations again.

Sorry, I leant my camera out for the weekend, I'll have some up soon. It's wierd, everywhere I go there's always one great find and the rest is junk. I actually got a call today from a dealer who got a 1"+ barbers use(I think, his accent is thick Russian) so I'm gonna go look at it tomorrow. He wants $45 which would be fine with me! Hopefully I'll have pics of both tomorrow. He's got a few dubl duck pearlducks as well but didn't know which ones. A Reaper would be nice.

So I still havent gotten my camera back, but heres some pics from my iPhone so they arent that great. The 1' Barbers use actually turned out to be a 7/8 Celebrated fine India Steel wedge in great condition, original scales but repinned. It had also been polished so the writing on the blade is almost worn off, but it looks like it said "Diamond Edge" or something like that in Olde English lettering. The stamp on the spine and tang are near mint and fully intact. The other razor(that i picked up last weekend for $20) is a near wedge and actually measures 15/16 not 7/8 like i said before. Not bad for $20 and $35. Both have very good condition boxes.

Both of those razors look great, but the India Steel wedge really catches my envious eye....looks like a superb shaver and has a lot of class.
