Thread: Antique market finds: 8/8 WB, Engels, Tuckmar

Sorry, I leant my camera out for the weekend, I'll have some up soon. It's wierd, everywhere I go there's always one great find and the rest is junk. I actually got a call today from a dealer who got a 1"+ barbers use(I think, his accent is thick Russian) so I'm gonna go look at it tomorrow. He wants $45 which would be fine with me! Hopefully I'll have pics of both tomorrow. He's got a few dubl duck pearlducks as well but didn't know which ones. A Reaper would be nice.

So I still havent gotten my camera back, but heres some pics from my iPhone so they arent that great. The 1' Barbers use actually turned out to be a 7/8 Celebrated fine India Steel wedge in great condition, original scales but repinned. It had also been polished so the writing on the blade is almost worn off, but it looks like it said "Diamond Edge" or something like that in Olde English lettering. The stamp on the spine and tang are near mint and fully intact. The other razor(that i picked up last weekend for $20) is a near wedge and actually measures 15/16 not 7/8 like i said before. Not bad for $20 and $35. Both have very good condition boxes.

Both of those razors look great, but the India Steel wedge really catches my envious eye....looks like a superb shaver and has a lot of class.
