Thread: R&M NY, president McKinnely

I picked this up from ebay on Friday. Its an R&M of NY. Its got good scales and has an engraved bust of president mckinnely, elected date and assasinated date also engraved on the blade. Its been polished and honed shave ready. (Needs stropping) the pin attaching the blade to the scales needs to be replaced but other than that a pretty decent blade. I'm new to collecting and I figured id ask you all if you think this was a good buy. Didn't pay much. Here's the link to the enlarged pics from ebay. Very Interesting sounding razor.I'd like to see it,but the link didn't work for me.I tried to copy and paste the item no.,but the number led to an old postcard listing.

It looks a little rough, but serviceable. I don't see in the ad where the razor was advertised as having been honed and only needs to be stropped - just that it is "still very sharp"

Ugh! Lol there's no way you can tell I'm a rookie at this. Ill try and fix it.
