Thanked: 2MY 7 yr OLD SON HAS TH EYE!!!!
After I picked the kids up from school today I decided to check out on of the local antique shops I hadn't been to in awhile. After looking all over the shop top to bottom I decided to head out with no luck of finding a single straight or even an empty box. Passing the last case by the door my 7 yr old son says "dad look , there's one". He found a box on the bottom shelf hidden in the back behind some old riding spurs. I figured it was an empty box. Because usually the dealers will display them next to the box. Called the clerk over to open the case, and to my amazement it had something inside! A very nice H Boker co/ Wright & Wilhelmy "Clean Clipper". Blades in great shape. It does look like the pivot pin has been replaced, has some file marks under the pin. I willl now always bring my son with me to check the hard to see places. Lol

Nice find and a great shaver. It's great that your kids enjoy hunting with you and when they find something that you like it's like heaven to them. You son does have great eye and will now ask when you will all go hunting again. JrJoeD, CarrieM and I ofter go out hunting together. We enjoy the time together and later the cleanup or restores and honing. Jr and I shave together every chance we get. He's 15 now and we've been collecting and working on razors together for a couple of years now.
Take the kids hunting with you as ofter as you can.
Aren't antique shop finds just GREAT?!“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)

The kids love digging through antique stores and estate sales with me. The kids always find the coolest things. Last year my son found a pair of eye glasses from the late 1700's stuffed down in an old razor pouch. The store clerk thought the box was empty so he had the box priced for $4.00. That's all I paid for the glasses since he wasn't aware. Lol Can't wait for the youngest to get old enough. Then ill have 3 little bloodhounds to take!

Congratulations on your Boker Clean Clipper and your sons sharp eyes!
Your razor was made by the Wright and Wilhelmy Co, which had a long history but finally incorporated as Wright & Wilhelmy in Omaha , Nebraska in 1902. The Clean Clipper trademark dates from 1902. From Goins'.

From what I gather, they made all the razors for that company and put their stamp and the Tree on them. Very common. One of my favorite razors is a Boker made under the Eclipse Cutlery name.

Thanked: 1587Very nice find indeed - interesting looking razor, and you certainly owe your son big time!
What's he like at ebay? - that'll be the real test!

I guess that kid's a keeper... Nice find! The story definitely adds something to the razor, too.
