I Got lucky on German,English,American,Italian razors
I think I got lucky and found some good razors a couple of them may be a little rare and hard to find due to their company not in business for very long time. They all have very little honing done to them. I found a antique store on my way to a job and decided to stop to see if I could find some razors there. The lady told me that they had put some straight razors in the display case a week ago before I got there and nobody had looked at them yet. They had 10 razors five in bad shape with a lot of rust and common names and five good razors which I bought for $15.00 Each. I found German, English, American, and Italian. The top one is a Wade & Butcher with bone scales, was probably made in the 1880s or 1890s. Second one from the top is G. Amodo "Rigoletto" made in Avellino, Italia, with 3/4 in Blade. Third from the top is Keen Edge "Trade Mark" Made for Keith, Simmons & Co. Nashville, Tenn. Made in Germany, Keen Edge was in business for only two years 1904-1906. Fourth from the top is Wilbert "Hollow Ground" this was a trademark for Sears and Roebuck & Co. 1908-1921 Bottom razor is C.Klauberg & Bros "Masterpiece" 1895 this company has a long American family history. I cannot find any information on the Italian razor, matter of fact there does not seem to be any information on any Italian razor manufacturer, would this razor be considered rare?. Let me know if you have any information on my razors and also if you have any experience with the way they shave if you have one that you have shaved with. I am going to try to get the water stains off of them and clean them up and hone them and put them in my rotation. Thanks

Thanked: 1371Those are some nice looking blades, especially for the money.
Good find!
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

You sure did get lucky. They all look real good.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Very nice. I seem to only be able to find the old worn out straights at the antique stores I go to.
