Thread: Two new ebays

Just finished up honing my two ebay finds, a Wester Bros Yankee Wedge (the one with the yellow scales), and an Augustus Ker. Cracker Jack both of which have some hone wear. These are some of my first tries at restoring, or should I say sterilizing and honing, a razor. Breadknifed a chip out of the Yankee Wedge on a Norton 220/1000 and then set the bevel using the same stone with tape on both. Worked both up on a 4k/8k and finally a turn on a Cr2O3 strop and finally a Fe2O3 pasted strop. Here's a couple pictures:

Ha, haven't quite gotten there yet! I'll update after my shower tonight, looking forward to the wedge; I've only used hollow razors so far.
