    Default Family Heirlooms

So last night my Step mother told me that her Grandfather used to "Work on Friday, barber on Saturday and teach on Sunday." So she had three of his razors packed away in a box since he passed in the early 1950's and wanted me to have them. So here they are as given to me.
    1) JIM-SLICK by J.C. LEINEKE Culver city CA
Spike point 5/8 in black celluloid with SS pins. No chips/cracks, nice patina, minor rust on the upper jimps at pivot. Closes center. Still pops arm hair.

That is bad to the bone and those are all you would need to last the rest of your life unless you get the RAD. I've never heard of any of them but I bet they are all going to be great shavers. Thanks very much for posting them. You might want to add them to the SRP Wiki data base.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Nice razors and also very nice that your stepmother gave them to you. That means a lot, I'm sure.

The green tarnish should come off nicely from the inlay and pins of that third razor revealing some shiny brass. Just use some Maas or Flitz.

I`m new to all this but common sence tells me that if the blades have been sat around for 60 years without any major rust or tarnish, and still able to pop arm hair. then the steel must be have decent and so a decent razor.

    Now THAT's really cool!

Several months ago, after finding out that I had switched to straight shaving, my mother told me she has my great-great-grandfather's razor to give to me the next time I go to visit her. I had planned to go over the Christmas holidays but weather prevented the trip. I have no idea what makeit is or what condition it's in, but I hope it'll be something of interest to post here. Hoping to visit her this spring.
