Default Its been a good couple of weeks for the RAD...

    Hey folks,

As the title says, its been a good couple of weeks..!

I've managed to pick up an old ERN razor in the top right hand corner, a Raven barber hone at the bottom of the pic, theres a Dubl Duck Goldedge in the bottom right, and in the top left a pair of Germer 4/8" razors in bone scales with lead wedges.

I also won an old W&B 3/4" on the 'Bay on Friday.

I think its time to admit I have a problem...

I agree. You have a problem once it gets to be around 6 razors a week and you still find yourself looking at eBay and wanting to go to any antique shop you can find...
Enjoy the Duck and the others

the small ones actually look more like ivory than bone.

I hate to say it, but I think gugi is right. The scales on those small ones look quite thin which may be an indication that they are ivory, not bone Either way though you have aquired some very sweet shavers.

    Thanks guys!

The scales are very thin and the pores are tiny (much smaller than my other bone handled razors) and not clogged with anything. They are very smooth to the touch and have a pretty good polish on them as well.

I've just been having a read of some old threads for tell tale signs between bone and ivory, and going from your expert opinions and what I've read on other threads it sounds like they are indeed ivory.

Thanks for the info and heads up, I appreciate it..!

Very nice haul. I'm thinking Mr Ducky looks familiar... is that the one we were talking about earlier?

Also, be sure to post your cased set in the "Gentleman's Set" razor club!

Hi Dylan, that is indeed the very same Duck! It shaves like an absolute dream and I've been after one for ages, so I'm very pleased with it. It really does have an awesome edge, so thanks very much for the great honing!
