Thanked: 1First Dubl Duck
I got a dubl duck goldedge at an antique shop this weekend. This is my first dubl duck, I have been trying to get one off ebay but man the price on them will get rediculous fast. The razor is not in the best shape, but the edge has no chips or cracks and it looks like it should clean up well.
Normally i would polish and hone the razors myself but this one I am a little nervous about working on.
Along with it I got a 7/8 wade and butcher wedge (what a monster blade), and a J.A. Henckels in near perfect condition.
I didn't get them for a steal but for 90 bucks I don't feel i got ripped off either. Now i just need to get them shave ready and enjoy.

Nice haul for $90. Of course if you don't post photos some would say you're teasing and others that it never happened. Maybe get that duck honed by a pro. Give you a benchmark to judge your own honing with.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

jeb,
Congrats on acquiring your first Dubl Duck. I have found mine to be a great shaver. I am certain that once you refurbish yours that it will not only look quite nice, but will be a great shaver too."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Sounds like a good acquisition! I've only ever owned a 4/8"
Special #1, and it sure was a great shaver.

Thanked: 1I finally got some pictures. Like I said they all need some work but none of them have any major damage.

Nice haul for $90! I've got a DD and its a great shaver, a really smooth edge and it looks great as well!
+1 on Jimmy's advice, its a good idea to send at least one to a pro for honing. That way you know its good to use and you can use it as a benchmark against your own honing.
You could also send one/some to someone like Glen or Max and they can polish them up for you as well. OTOH, if you're happy with the patina (some like it, some dont!) then just hone them up and happy shaving!
Good luck and keep us posted!
