    Default AUCTION HOUSE FINDS...

I found these 4 razors at an auction house in St Clairesville, Ohio yesterday. I only had to spend $59 for the four. They are a Genco Henry's XX on one side of the tang and $1.50 on the other; Joseph Allen & Sons Non XLL; Joseph Rodgers & Son's with "Cutlers to Their Majesties" No. 6 Norfolk Street on the tang; And a "BAY STATE No. 1448". I think I got pretty lucky with the Bay State being in such good condition. Now to clean them up and get new scales on them!

Good find! I particularly like the 3rd razor, that has a really nice shaped blade.

Let us know how you get on with the restoration and post some pics when they're done!

Nice Rodgers! That smile helps the shave, in my opinion. You can work around ears and the jawline more safely than with a square point or spike.

Four nice shavers there. I particularly like the Rogers. Are the scales on the first one stag or dirty celluloid ? I wouldn't rescale any if they aren't damaged. Unless you just like to make scales, to each his own.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanks! The scales on the Genco are like a painted balsa wood, really poor shape. Actually all the scales have chips or cracks on the backsides of the scales except for the Rodgers. I believe they are horn actually. Thescales on the Bay State are from 2 different razors (different colors)
