    Default Dirty Duck

Some may have seen this one on Ebite, but I just had to try for it Whoot I'm happy As many know I am more attracted to the well used items and this one is... well not pretty

She has obviously been honed at one time but not much, however she looks like she was put away wet at some point. A few erosion patches here and there but the edge is free from rot. By the time I came across it's path someone tried to scrap off the rust, and it was gone, but the pitting and scrapes are still there. Amazingly there is still some gold wash and blue paint on the tang and stamps. I'm not going to bother scrubbing off the tarnish there as I like the effect.

I have tightened the hinge pin as it was pretty loose. The center pin is free floating and doesn't appear to have ever been collared. I also MAAS finger painted the scales and found them to already be pretty clean, it did however polish up the brass fittings Oh well...

I also just honed it up using my Ohira and Asagi with them swapping slurry. This razor has taken on a wicked edge My beard is NOT growing fast enough!!!!

I'll get pics of the finished job soon... my phone batt died on me

    Hello, DwarvenChef:

I can only imagine how the Duck will emerge in the hands of a master such as you. That the razor is also a great shaver makes your find a sparkling nugget. Nicely done, my good man.

    Regards,
    Obie
