    Default Weekend scored 2 razors

I had a fantastic score today at some small antique shop today.

    1956 Gillette Tech.

Also a fine looking W&B straight with the notch in it. I found the Tech first and then seen this gem while looking in the corners on the shelf they had
Many of what they had were a bit trashed scales were busted or rusty blades.

May need to rescale and there is a ding in the blade apparently it looks like someone tried to jam it back in and hit the side of scales That ding can be fixed and the blade it self is fine.

I am assuming that this W&B is older as it just says Sheffield plus the notch in it .. Am I correct in that?

I think I made a fantastic score.. I am sorry for the bad photos as this is my first time posting a photo.

I am interesting in what you all think of this one.

The blade is nice and clean, I cant see the dings in it, hopefully they can be honed out, get it honed , re scale if needed and have fun with it. I do believe it is one of the older ones.

Hollow grind & long monkey tail dates it 1880-1890ish.

    Nice score!

Thanks I was quite happy to score these yesterday. I guess I have learned something from SRP and know what to look for.

Jason Hello! I am glad that you have seen my new razors. Yes, I am getting quite a nice collection of razors... I need to stop buying those vintage DE blades.. hehhe..

I should post a photo of them all if I can.

Congrats on a great score! I look at rescaling as optional as long as they function safely. Enjoy your shaves with your new toys. Aren't local finds just GREAT!!

    Default Swaty and Russian Razor

OK I took a quick photo of my Russian razor that needs work. Also this is a Franz Swaty my dad found for me while he was cleaning out stuff from his place.

The Russian Razor I picked up on ebay for not much needs some work and cleanup. The edge is not bad shape considering its age. I think in the end it will be a fantastic razor.

    Very nice find .Congratulations.
You are doing great job. It is so nice to see old tools cleaned up and make them usable after 100 years again.
