    Hiya,

    That Gillette is one of my favorites and it's what I started my DE journey with years ago. I still have one myself, but with a gold head. It's called a super adjustable, and it was offered in a short handle similar to a slim, and a longer one like yours. The 'R' dates it a 1972 version.

    I bought one of those for my daughter last Christmas and she's been using it ever since. The handle length makes it one of the better ones for leg shaving.

    Put a blade in and look to make sure the gap along the safety bar is even all the way along. Sometimes old Gillettes get bumped around and the uneven blade gap makes for a rough ride. Also, make sure the handle's tightened down all the way before using.
