Default Have to give all my coticules the respect they deserve

    Hey all,

So I've had a few coticules for a while now, but have recently received another one (the 2nd is the newest). I feel that it's only fair that I post a new photo of ALL my coticules together so they know they're all loved equally.

The 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th are all natural combo stones. The others are glued to slate.

For size reference, the 6th one is a 15cmx5cm stone, roughly 6"x2".

Love the coticule, and it will love you back.

So I take it you like coticules then...?

I've just got the one coti/BBW combo thats 6"x2", but its a great finisher. It makes a really nice slurry, and the edge feels very smooth after I finish on this stone.

Nice collection, glad you like 'em..!

    nice collection!!
curious tho, does the finish vary much from stone to stone?
Do you have a favorite? I promise not to tell them.

The finish can vary a little from coticule from coticule. But to be honest I really can't tell the difference most of the time, so it really doesn't matter! Each stone is a good quality one for a razor, so although they perform differently that each leave a comparable finish on the razor.

A favourite?? Umm....ha, not really. Some are better when you want a faster cutting stone, but some are better when finishing a razor. But if I had to pick one it would be the La Veinette bout on the far right. I picked that one because I am the most acquinted with it, so it is more reliable for me! But I say that only because you made me choose, I really like them all.

Given the number of coticules I have, I certainly can't mock you for how many you have. However, I do find it amusing that you have a separate bout for each of them!

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
